The 2008 Puma sports a brand new hull!  The performance of this boat leaves me scratching my head and asking questions!  How can you build a better riding boat without sacrificing something in another area?  Bass Cat did and this one will keep Bass Cat Boats at the forefront of bass boat industry!  The '08 Puma has a "wide body" appearance with sleek new lines and performance improvements in all categories.  If you think the previous hulls were fast, great riding, dry, and stable..............then you need to check this one out!  Faster by couple mph, quicker mid-range acceleration, softer landing in rough water, better stability, and has that good ole Bass Cat dry ride!  Powered by the new Mercury 250 Optimax Pro XS, this boat/motor combination is backed by 7 J.D. Powers Awards For "Highest in Customer Satisfaction" and there will be more of those awards forthcoming in the future!

The new hull has a new look and a wider bottom!  Other than the improved looks, the boat performs better on the top end, better acceleration, better riding, and has more stability at rest.  This is the best hull Bass Cat has ever put on the water.

The Mercury Optimax 250 Pro XS was introduced in the fall of '07 and is just as strong as its predecessor.............the 250 XS.  After owning three 250 XS engines, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Pro XS is the same engine with new colors.  It delivers plenty of punch from the hole shot to the top end and gets awesome fuel economy for an engine with this much power.  This boat's top end speed will run into the 80's by GPS!!

A new look for the Puma from the rear and along the side above the fender.  A "wide body" look with performance greater than the previous standard hulled Puma and FTD's.  The bottom is several inches wider on the bottom making a more stable platform to fish from. 

 

 
A stereo/CD player with speakers located on the port and starboard sides.  In addition, speakers are located in the headrests of the seats!  The new seats include fiberglass backing to prevent bending and the new "BCB" logo look.  Along with these improvements, the seats are very comfortable and the head rests are perfectly located to aid in rough water ride! 
Inspired from Bass Cat Boats, R&R has developed a new look aluminum ladder that is out of the way and doesn't look half bad!  Pull the red knob on the side and the ladder drops to a usable depth.
     
The Detwiler hydraulic jack plate may be the strongest plate on the market.  It has recently undergone a pump re-design which features the Mercury 115 tilt and trim pump.  Other than the new pump, there are no longer 4 long stainless rods holding the pump and lifting ram rod together.  It is now incorporated into the pump itself.  This redesign should place Detwiler at top of the list when it comes to reliability, strength, and speed! 

  The orange clips shown above are Detwiler Stabilizer clips.  These are very inexpensive and keep the engine straight at all times while trailering to and from the water!

    Cooper Tires have replaced Firestone Tires.  I have ran Cooper Tires for many years with no problems.  I can't say that about the tires they replaced..........Firestone!

     
    The step and grab post was introduced on the 2007 models and is a very useful tool.  No hassle in getting into or out of the boat from the front of the boat.  Makes loading the boat a breeze!
         
    The front deck of the Puma is large enough for two anglers to fish comfortably and has plenty storage beneath.  The front middle compartment is designed such to store a net at all times and keep out of the way at all times!
    The handrails on a Puma light up in a color to match the boat's colors.  The handrails on this one are blue and are very sharp looking in low light conditions!
